There are people who want to get a slim body instantly by taking supplements or pills. But you should consider before using this method, because most of weight loss pills are not effective for losing weight.

Researchers from Oregon State University have investigated several weight loss supplements, and there was no evidence states that this magic bullet was able to lose weight or maintain body weight.

Melinda Manore, a professor of nutrition and exercise studied hundreds of weight loss supplements and she said that there was no evidence to show significant results or health benefits of weight loss

pills. The results of this study were reported in the International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism.

Some products including green tea, fiber supplements and low-fat milk only beneficial to lose weight about 2 kg, but the important thing to note is these supplements are not able to provide significant results.

"For most people, if they do not change their diet and lifestyle, these supplements will not give a great impact," said Manore, as quoted in Health magazine.

Manore divides these supplements (weight loss pills) into 4 categories:

1. Products such as chitosan, which can inhibit the absorption of fat or carbohydrates
2. Stimulants such as caffeine or ephedra that increase metabolism
3. Products such as conjugated linoleic acid that claimed to change body composition by reducing fat 4. Appetite suppressants such as soluble fiber.
"Many products do not have clinical trials to determine its effectiveness, and most studies do not involve sports. I do not know why many people eliminate exercise. Whereas exercise is important, not only to lose weight and build muscle mass, but also to maintain ideal body weight, "she said.

In addition, any pills can cause unpleasant side effects such as bloating, gas in stomach, trigger dehydration and even cause serious side effects such as stroke and heart problems.

"The key to lose weight is to eat whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean meat, reducing the intake of high-fat foods and exercise regularly.
